Hello!
In this week's video,
I find a radar, a stoplight, and some really big rocks. Behind-the-scenes detail: I accidentally went to the wrong Brienz, three hours away on the other side of Switzerland, and had to hurriedly reschedule filming for later in the day. I was extremely lucky to have patient interviewees who hadn't travelled far!
But that's just me! Elsewhere on the internet, here are the videos I've stumbled across this week:
- Did you see the "Jurassic Park but with a cat" clip that went round? This is the VFX breakdown, and it's a masterclass in making a painstaking, incredibly difficult process seem simple.
- Astrophysicist Dr Becky goes stargazing in the Maldives, and her enthusiasm and joy are absolutely infectious. As with the video about storage crates last week: seeing people who know their subject getting excited is a wonderful thing. (And there's a clear declaration about being invited as part of a junket,
which it's good to be up-front about!)
- Secret Base's Dorktown does a deep-dive into players getting hit by baseballs which is somehow accessible even to people like me who know nothing about baseball.
- This video about a wig (note: some explicit lyrics) crossed my path five times before I actually clicked on it. The minute it takes to watch is absolutely, 100% worth it.
And outside the world of video this week:
All the best,
— Tom
